Acquirer/Acquiring Bank
A bank or financial institution licensed by a credit card organization to accept credit cards as means of payment for goods and services and process card transaction on behalf of the merchant.
Address Verification Service (AVS)
A fraud prevention method defined by Visa, MasterCard and American Express for e-commerce and MOTO card transactions. It matches the numeric address data provided by the cardholder at the time of the purchase with the card billing address held by the card organization.
